Dr. Dimitrios Patrianakos is a comprehensive ophthalmologist who specializes in the medical management of various eye conditions. He has served the patients of Chicago and its suburbs for over 30 years.
In 1966, Dr. Patrianakos graduated from the University of Athens Medical School in Greece. Shortly after, he completed his ophthalmology training at the General Hospital of Pireus-Greece. In 1972, he earned his ECFMG/FLEX certification to practice medicine in the United States. He then came to Chicago where he completed a rotating internship at Cuneo-Columbus-Cabrini Medical Center in 1974. He furthered his ophthalmology training with two fellowships at the University of Illinois Eye and Ear Infirmary and at Cook County Hospital in Chicago.
Dr. Patrianakos has admitting privileges at Swedish Covenant Hospital and is a member of many professional societies including the American Medical Association and the Hellenic Medical Society.
Dr. Patrianakos is happy to reside in the Chicago suburbs with his wonderful wife, Julia, who is a teacher. He has three children, Thomas, Christina and Athena. Thomas has recently joined the ophthalmology practice in 2007 after returning from a fellowship in Boston. Christina, is a general dentist residing in the Boston area with her husband, Demetri, and her two children, Thalia, and Demetra. Athena was recently married to Jeff Hoobler and will be completing her neonatology fellowship at the University of Chicago.
Dr. Patrianakos' goal is to continue to serve the Chicago land community and surrounding areas with caring and comprehensive eye care.
