Sherif Dawood

       Dr. Dawood is an ophthalmologist who specializes in cornea and refractive surgery, he performs standard and advanced cataract surgery with premium IOLs. He also performs refractive surgery (LASIK, PRK, LRI and Corrective lens implantation) and all forms of corneal transplantation.

        Dr. Dawood obtained his medical degree from Cairo University, he graduated with Excellent honors and completed his residency in ophthalmology at the National eye institute in Cairo, Egypt.

        Driven by high goals, he moved to USA to start over his education and career, he completed a residency in internal medicine and was the chief hospitalist at Mercy Hospital in Chicago.

        Even though he was succeeding in his career as an internist ophthalmology still remained his dream, after many years of persistence and hard work he finally realized his dream when he joined the ophthalmology residency training program at John H. Stroger hospital, one of the largest training hospitals in the United States. He, then, pursued a fellowship in cornea and refractive surgery in the same hospital.

       

        He is currently a teaching attending at John H. Stroger hospital and one of the cornea and refractive surgeons in the ophthalmology department.

       Dr. Dawood is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO), the American society of cataract and refractive surgeons (ASCRS) and the American College of Physicians (ACP)

       He has earned several awards and academic achievements including Master Degrees in Ophthalmology and an award from the international council of Ophthalmology, Cambridge, UK.

       He has numerous Ophthalmology publications and has volunteered for ophthalmology missions overseas.
